DAY 30 Memorizing God’s Word

Text: Psalms 119:11 Memorize: But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:2 Scriptures: Psalms 119:11;Deuteronomy 6:6;Matthew 4:1-4;1 Peter 3:15; Psalm 19:13; Psalm 37:31; Psalm 119:97 Perhaps the most powerful way to engage with God’s Word is to memorize it. Memorizing the Bible means we can meditate on it all day long and that we can have it available to us when we most need it. We can see by the way Jesus continually quoted Scripture that he had memorized great portions of it. Jesus was absolutely soaked in God’s Word, and He is our model. I know of no other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding, practically speaking, than memorizing Scripture. . . . No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends! Your prayer life will be strengthened. Your witnessing will be sharper and much more effective. Your attitudes and outlook will begin to change. Your mind will become alert and observant. Your confidence and assurance will be enhanced. Your faith will be solidified Bible memorization is absolutely fundamental to spiritual formation. If I had to choose between all the disciplines of the spiritual life, I would choose Bible memorization, because it is a fundamental way of filling our minds with what it needs. This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth. That’s where you need it! How does it get in your mouth? Memorization HYMN: IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, GOD ONLY WISE
