Day 27 The manifestation of the presence of God
he angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them. Exodus 14:19 There are people who think it doesn’t matter what church they go to, because God is everywhere. Yes, it is true that God is everywhere, but He doesn’t manifest His presence in every place. Details
God's Daily Promises
PROMISE #6 Colossians 1:12-13
I delivered you from darkness into the kingdom of My beloved Son..

Salvation is the great work of God (Jonah 2:9) in which He forgives sin and gives eternal life to a believing sinner as a free gift of His grace (Eph. 2:8-9).  Forgiveness is needed because all people are born sinners showing their sin nature soon after birth (Gen. 6:5; Ps. 14:1-3; 51:5; Rom. 3:10-18).  New life is needed because all people are born spiritually dead, separated from God (Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3).  Having a sin nature and being spiritually dead results in people being totally depraved meaning that they are unable to please God by the good deeds they may achieve (Isa. 64:6; Jer. 17:9; Mk. 7:20-23; I Cor. 2:14; Gal. 5:19-21).  The sinner is under the just condemnation of God who is perfect in holiness, purity, and righteousness (Ezra 9:15; Ps. 22:3; Ps. 48:10; Isa. 6:3; Jer. 9:24; Hab. 1:13) and must judge sin (Ezek. 18:4; Acts 17:30-31; Rom. 6:23).

I hope you know that these are sincere words. So many things are ‘falling into place’ that indicate His coming is soon. Each day passes and we see/learn new things that are fulfilling the Scriptures. God is sounding His alarm and calling for those that are asleep to wake up. Where will you be after death? Think about this. As soon as you die, you will know where you will spend eternity. There is no purgatory or afterlife payment method. It doesn’t matter if you say you don’t believe in God or heaven/hell. That’s like saying you don’t believe in gravity so you can step off of a tall building without falling. Your conscious knows this is true but you may have hardened it over time.

An explanation of faith is found in Matthew 9:27-30 where two blind men came to Jesus and asked Him to heal them. Jesus first asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” and their reply was, “Yes, Lord.” “Then He touched their eyes saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.’ And their eyes were opened.” Their faith and assurance that Jesus could give them sight was the substance or reality they hoped for. It also gave them the evidence or trust that they would receive what they asked for. They believed; that is, they had faith in advance that it would be done. Some may argue that James’ teaching that we should obey the commandments of God is teaching that we are saved by works. That is not the case. The apostle Paul makes this clear when he says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Hope in God is not a vague expectation or uncertain searching. It is a solid trust in God and His Word. To know what this means, you can learn from Abraham. He had received a promise from God that he and his wife Sarah would have a child and that a great nation would come forth of this child. The Bible says about Abraham: “He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised” (Romans 4:19-21). He hoped in God and not in his own human capabilities. God fulfilled this promise gloriously. Out of this child a great nation and, ultimately, the Lord Jesus Christ was born. Through Him, our Savior, we can also have confidence and trust in God.

Love in the Bible, as in our everyday usage, can be directed from person to person or from a person to things. When directed toward things, love means enjoying or taking pleasure in those things. Love towards persons is more complex. As with things, loving persons may mean simply enjoying them and taking pleasure in their personalities, looks, achievements, etc. But there is another aspect of interpersonal love that is very important in the Bible. There is the aspect of love for persons who are not attractive or virtuous or productive. In this case, love is not a delight in what a person is, but a deeply felt commitment to helping him be what he ought to be. As we will see, the love for things and both dimensions of the love for persons are richly illustrated in the Bible.
