WHAT SHALL YOU GIVE AS AN ACCOUNT AFTER NEGLECTING ALL HIS GOODNESS?
Romans 14:12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God
1. We all must appear before the Judgment seat of God. Everyone without exception “will stand before the judgment seat of God.” This includes you and me. “Each one” will “give an account of himself to God. Consider this when we are in the hospital someone will visit us When we have a court case we can hire a lawyer to advice and defend us. But not same with God’s judgment. We all must stand alone to give an account.
2. This judgment will include all our secret lives. This judgment includes our secrets lives which we don’t want others to know about it. God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:16b)
All our hidden sins will be exposed All our evil plans will be exposed All our evil thought will be exposed Let me ask you this question “What controls your heart, is it to do good or do evil? Consider your relationship with your spouse and others.
Are you keeping friends or enemies with people?
All these thoughts, God will bring them to judgment. We are advised to follow peace with all men and holiness, without that no man can see God. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: These are basic things that can help you to escape the coming Judgment of God.(Peace and Holiness)
Can we expose today, those things we kept as secrets that defile us, so that we can be ready for the Day of Judgment?
3. Are you prepared today? Now is the acceptable time and today is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
WHAT A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY GIVEN TO US
2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. God has given us everything we need in life and also kept us alive for His own goodness and not by own. Our lives today are by God and every good thing we enjoyed all from God. How do we repay God for all His Goodness, when we are not living for God? This is a wonderful opportunity to live for God and enjoy more goodness of God and with assurance of escaping the coming judgment.
4. A Call for repentance I urge you to repent today and be ready for that coming “day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men” (2 Peter 3:7).
On that day all our wealth will be gone All our ranks will be gone All our power will be gone All our knowledge (Education) will be gone. And all these pursuits that kept us from serving the Lord with our whole hearts will also be on fire. Then we now face judgment of God, on how we have lived our lives and also how we got and used these things.
2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.
Finally,
My message is coming as a trumpet call to get ready for the day of God’s Judgment, Somehow, we go from day to day with “life as usual” and don’t imagine the coming day of God’s judgment. Let us come to God now with full heart, through the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of our sins and trust in Christ’s redemptive death on the cross. That is the way we will be prepared for the coming judgment of God.
