Importance Of Self-Evaluation In Christ

Importance Of Self-Evaluation In Christ

Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O Lord, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts; see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Without us realizing it, this life goes on as time goes by and passes AS if everything is going as it should, but when an unavoidable problem occurs and has an impact on our lives, ONLY do we realize THAT many things are actually neglected, and because of that we can see the reality that we are only busying ourselves, but not building and developing ourselves as we should in God, even though the activity is in the circle of spiritual activities. This often happens because we respond to the activity only by participating and filling the activity.

Jesus Christ, our Lord said,
Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV) “Everyone who hears these words of Mine AND DOES IT is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine AND DOES NOT DO IT is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was its fall.” The fact is that whether we DO or DO NOT the truth of God’s word in life is the core of whether an activity has an impact or not on us. And this cannot be denied, because sooner or later that reality will be faced too.

Maybe people can say that we live even though in reality it is not so ( Revelation 3:1-3 ), because education, degrees and status are not a guarantee of someone’s spiritual existence. And we may also consciously or unconsciously act as if everything is in accordance with what God wants, even though in reality it is not. That is a human weakness that the Devil always uses to divert attention so that we do not focus on building ourselves on the rock, namely Jesus Christ, our Lord. 1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a skilled master builder, I have laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each one must take care how he builds on it. 1 Corinthians 3:12-13 (ESV)

Whether people build on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, dry grass or straw, one day each person’s work will be seen. Because the day of God will reveal it, because it will be seen with fire and how each person’s work will be tested by that fire. 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 (TB) If a person’s work stands the test, he will be rewarded. If his work burns, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as from the fire.

That’s why the apostle Paul set an example as follows, 1 Corinthians 9:26 (TB) That’s why I don’t run aimlessly and I’m NOT a boxer who JUST randomly hits. 1 Corinthians 9:27 (TB) But I train my body and control it completely, SO that after preaching the Gospel to others, I myself will not be rejected. What about ourselves? That’s why King David in his awareness of God’s presence with His intentions and plans in him (Psalm 139), He said, Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart, test me and know my thoughts; see if my way is crooked, and guide me in the eternal way! Psalm 119:10-11 (TB) With all my heart I seek You, do not let me deviate from Your commandments.

In my heart I keep Your promise, so that I do not sin against You. And he advises that all God’s chosen people should not forget to evaluate themselves in order to be wise in living life in this world, and not forget themselves. Psalm 90:12 (TB) Teach us to count our days in this way, until we have a wise heart. Ephesus 5:15-17 (TB) Therefore, pay close attention to how you live, not like foolish people, but like wise people, and use the time you have, because these days are evil. That’s why you should not be stupid, but try to understand God’s will. Filling time with positive activities is a good thing, and it will be even better if we continue to build and build ourselves by doing the truth of God’s word that has reminded and informed the shortcomings that still exist in us, so that we continue to improve ourselves over time in existing activities. And not just being followers, fillers and listeners. James 1:22-25 (TB)

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only; BECAUSE if you don’t, you are deceiving yourself.
For if anyone only hears the word and does not do it, he is like a man who examines his true face in a mirror.
As soon as he looked at her, she was gone or he immediately forgot what she looked like.
But whoever looks closely into the perfect law of freedom and continues in it, not only as a forgetful hearer but as a doer, he will be blessed in what he does.

Finally,
Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
You have received Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, let your life remain in Him.
BE rooted in Him and built up on Him, BE established in the faith you were taught, AND BE overflowing with thankfulness.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

2 Thessalonians 3:16
And may the Lord of peace himself give you peace continually. continually, in all things, to you. The Lord is with you all. Amen! Emmanuel and the Lord Jesus bless. Shalom! Created by Holy Spirit and dr. Saut MS
