The hope we have as believers

1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to
everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with
gentleness and respect.

What is this hope
1. The hope of eternal life. John 3:16
2. The hope of the resurrection of the dead in Christ talks about our confidence
that all those who have died in Christ have only slept (1 Thess. 4:14)
3. Quickening of these mortal bodies (Rom. 8:11).
4. The hope of Christ’s return. (Heb. 13:5).
5. Jesus Christ will return to take us home (Jn. 14:2-6)
6. We will seat in heavenly places, with Him (Eph. 2:6)

What do we do to keep this hope alive?
1 John 3:3
Those that have this hope purifies themselves
2 Corinthians 7:1
Cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit.
James 4:8
Cleanse your hands, you sinners
1 Peter 1:15
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do
Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
